Check out this new ad. Mind the fine print: This value-driven campaign promotes the Philippines to its own people, many of whom opt to travel abroad unaware of their country’s beauty. “Tara na,” means “Let’s go.”

Donde es amigo cuanto alumbra el sol;

The Song of Maria Clara. This was one of the numerous poems by the man, our great hero, Jose Rizal who is celebrating his 150th birthday today.

This poem was reinvented and given a modern touch when Filipino Indie Pop Royalty The Camerawalls with their frontman Clementince Castro decided to make it as a song. This was included on their debut album.

If you cannot understand Spanish, you can view the English translation and the Filipino translation of the poem by clicking the link.

Maligayang ika-150 kaarawan at mabuhay ka Gat Jose Rizal!
